General Advice
Let's get started early! We hope that you will choose us in the spring or summer prior to entering your senior year. That way we can plan ahead for the upcoming school year and capture the most unique images possible. Think about fall colors, winter scenes and spring flowers. For fun pack clients, we might be able to capture sports action photos or band image to include in your portfolio book. We can anticipate shoots in the various seasons before the spring rush to graduation!
Clothing Advice
As a photographer, I want the senior to drive the process. He/she needs to be able to express themselves in their own unique way. As a creative, I will adjust to the situation so that we have the best images possible. Be sure and consult with mom as I am sure she will have some distinctive opinions on the matter!
•Avoid stripes, plaid, and patterns. Solids photograph much better.
•Bring a variety of colors, don't bring 5 red outfits even if it is your favorite color.
•Avoid clothing that has wording on it except for your own school logo.
•Vary the style, all one look (like tanks) gets boring.
•Vary the dress level, bring some dressy, some medium and some casual.
•For outdoor sessions, remember there may not be a discrete place to change. Plan efficiently!
Some shots are close up, others are full length. Plan outfits completely. It is hard to do a full length formal in your suit if all you brought was big old tennis shoes.
Props? BRING THEM!!
Bring props that help define who you are. Some popular choices are: Sports equipment (soccer ball, football, basketball, baseball, for example), sports uniforms, music instruments (from school tuba to rock guitar), activities (dance leotard and shoes, swimming, hobbies, you name it!), vehicles and motorcycles can come to the outdoor session.
The Process
We are going to put your senior through up to three separate photo shoots depending on the volume and choice of images desired. For outdoor shoots, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. If it rains, we'll have to reschedule. Don't worry about clouds, they actually help. But rain falling IS a problem. We will communicate if weather looks to be a problem. In the meantime, all images and digital rights are available to you at our website after we receive payment. After the last shoot, the senior and his/her family has some choices to make. They need to pick out the single image that will be their yearbook photo so GAP Photo can send that to your yearbook staff electronically. Next, each package comes with a print credit and we let you choose what size prints you want up to that amount (of course hoping you will like to purchase more!). We offer two qualities of prints that range from high quality to premium). Please see the enclosed price list for each level. We identify the images on line by its number in the collection (34 out of 67 for example) on the upper right side of the gallery website location. Sometimes I will confirm the image but using its file name (click on the “I” on the image to the right).
From the very start, the senior, his/her family and GAP Photo will have a lot to talk about!
We can coordinate shoot times, places and even take care of print orders on Facebook, via email at [email protected] or via voice or text at 360-508-7507.
